CALL FOR ABSTRACTS – Deadline December 17, 2021

We welcome you to submit an abstract for your research related to the oceanography, ecology, biology, and geology of the central San Francisco Bay, Gulf of the Farallones, Bodega Bay and Cordell Bank regions, and adjacent waters between Point Arena and Point Año Nuevo.

Abstracts should focus on new, on-going, and recently completed research, monitoring and habitat characterization projects within the area. Oral presentations will be very brief – less than 8 minutes in length. Extra time will be allotted for multi-project presentations, and you may present more than one project. Please submit a separate abstract for each project.

Abstract submission guidelines

Deadline: December 17, 2021

Format: Abstracts should be approximately 300 words (only in text body) in length, single-spaced, in MS word.

NOTE: You do not need to attend the symposium to have your abstract included in the Proceedings.

Each abstract must include:

  • Title, full name(s) of all authors name(s), institution address(es), phone numbers and email address(es).
  • Please indicate who the presenting author(s) are.
  • Presentations will be virtual, MS PowerPoint and can accommodate short video clips.
  • The information presented must be current, contain the study’s specific objectives, materials and methods, and preliminary findings.

Acceptance notification: You will be notified by January 6, 2022 the date and time of your presentation.

Presentation Format: The symposium organizers have provided a template for PowerPoint presentations. Use only MS Office PowerPoint. Oral presentations should be submitted for uploading, no later than January 11, 2022. To help reduce the file size, compress your photos before you submit your presentation. This can be done by selecting a photo, Format/Picture Tools/Copress Pictures/Screen (150 ppi) good for web and projectors. If you use a video in your presentation, you must also submit the video clip. Videos can be submitted in a separate email attachment.

Web postings: All presentations will be formatted into a PDF and posted on the symposium website by January 28, 2022. You may provide an alternate PDF version of your presentation for the website. Please notify bevan.goldengate at gmail.com if you would not like your presentation to be posted online by January 22, 2022.
